I really love candles. Just not humanly passionate! And for a very long time I dreamed of creating candles with runes. It would seem that what is easier - buy a candle of the right color, draw a rune on it, and you will be happy. On the one hand, this is true, but on the other hand, something did not please me in this idea, and over time I realized what it was.
Firstly, candles in stores are mostly offered from paraffin, and the oil derivative somehow did not evoke tender feelings. That is, it became clear that a wax candle was needed. Secondly, the process of painting with paint on a candle: again chemistry. Thirdly, I am very concerned about the issue of ecology, and I would like candles not to harm me, people, or the environment, that is, ideally, candles should be completely natural.
I had met wax candles before, but for some reason they did not seem attractive to me. I confess that I am an avid herbalist from early childhood - do not feed me bread, let me bring home armfuls of St. John's wort or thyme from the forest, dry the plantain, anoint myself with celandine. Growing up, I began to give preference to everything related to herbs and natural ingredients.
How are rune candles made?
Firstly, and perhaps most importantly: they are made with pleasure! And, of course, a great and bright feeling of joy that you work with such an amazing and literally sunny material as foundation, and such fragrant herbs.
Secondly, this is a rather meditative and very positive process that allows the foundation to “remember” everything that is put into it at this moment, all feelings and intentions. That is why I don’t make candles if I don’t feel well or I’m in a bad mood, I’m very worried about something.
First, the dried herbs are calmly and with certain thoughts ground in a mortar, the pestle moves (except in exceptional cases) strictly salting (in the direction of the sun, clockwise).
Then a wax sheet is taken and, with the same thoughts and intentions, it is warmed in the hands in order to transfer a certain energy to it. A wick is laid and wrapped on a warmed sheet (rolling also occurs salting), and then, very carefully and carefully, chopped herbs are laid out on the foundation. After manufacturing, a fresh candle is sent to lie down on a special altar in order to enhance the properties of the talisman.
What is "Rune"?
They have many definitions, but mostly they boil down to "a system of Scandinavian secret signs used, among other things, for early writing."
If you wish, you can learn more on your own, but I will tell you about those nuances that relate directly to working with candles. I have been dealing with runes for several years now, I live them in my own way, I learn them again and again, and I never cease to be amazed at their amazing, precisely balanced system.
Being the embodiments of the elements and nature itself, they skillfully direct the movement of energy to where it is needed. They push, they suggest, they inspire, they make it possible to learn what is needed, they help to bring the matter to the end (oh, how sometimes this is not enough!).
Of course, not for free, since any action is energy, and it is costly, that is, nothing will fall out of the void directly into your hands, and “to get rich, you need to at least buy a lottery ticket.” But if you need to run a forced march, then this is the most suitable equipment to reach the finish line as a winner.
These are helpers who pull along. These are friends who will give effective and good advice. And even best friends who are not too lazy to literally push in the right direction. Originally from the North, they also have strict features: if you want help, make an effort yourself; if you are going to quit halfway through, then don’t call us either; without sowing the grain, you will not reap the sheaf. But if you, after thinking and gathering your courage, started to reap a sheaf of grown grain, then here the runes will be a mountain for you.
Why are herbs placed as runes?
As mentioned earlier, runes are a powerful force and balanced energy. The whole world is in balance. Absolutely everything in nature is based on balance: ecosystems, seasons, weather. And when this balance is in a state of equilibrium, it is called "harmony". It is this word that determines why the herbs in the candles are placed in the form of runes. They harmoniously interact with each other: enhance common features, and compensate for each other's excellent features. And it's truly wonderful!
In most cases, in candles, herbs are located in a uniform thin layer inside at half the length of the honeycomb sheet. In some cases, the finished candle is also rolled in herbs so that they are on top.
Each approach has its own advantages, and I wanted to do something special, to bring something new, because this is the essence of creativity and creativity is in itself a rather powerful creative energy that combines with the energy of herbs, runes, foundation and even the intentions with which the candle was rolled up, forming a single whole fire magic. That is why these candles are so magical and so effective.
Where do candle herbs come from?
Collect herbs in the forest, because the forest is a rich source of energy and strength, a storehouse of wisdom and harmony. And it’s quite a rarity, but sometimes you can’t do without it (for example, laurel or eucalyptus) - buy herbs at a pharmacy or in a store, giving preference to the highest quality and freshest. Each plant has its own collection time, and besides this, I also observe a special ritual so that the plant not only does not get damaged, but also agrees to help with its further use in anything: tea for bath and hair, soap and candles, herbal pillows and more.
What if the herbs in the candle catch fire?
Despite the fact that I try to lay herbs in a thin layer and as far as possible from the wick, this phenomenon is possible in extremely rare cases. But there is nothing wrong with it, if the candle is under supervision, it is not dangerous. What to do: if the candle is small, let it burn out to the end, making sure that the burning process is safe for surrounding objects; if the candle is large, put it out and gently remove the top layer of herbs with the tip of a knife and light the candle again, perhaps even the next day.
When herbs burn in a candle, it becomes like a wickless herbal candle. In any case, it fulfills its purpose, with the only difference that burning is more intense (due to the larger surface area), and, unlike a wickless candle, the burning process can be easily interrupted, and then, if desired, resumed.
