Anna from the last hero season 1. How did the life of the participants of "The Last Hero" after the end of the reality show! There were a lot of people behind the scenes

10 years have passed since the Russian television people filmed the first. In a dull, rainy autumn, 16 people flew away to no one knows where and no one knows why. Both the prize and future prospects were ghostly, like a victory in television lottery. But everything ended very well. The foundation for a profitable reality TV business was laid.

- a student from Volgograd. Do you remember? But the girls on Internet forums remember and confess to him their first innocent girlish love, and visitors to his page on Odnoklassniki still cannot forget how unfairly he was left without the main prize. Ten years later, he admitted: the victory was in his hands, but the show must go on, and therefore the victory went to his competitor.

Vanya, how did you find out about the project? Last Hero"? Why did you suddenly decide to come?

This was in August 2001. I was in my second year, working temporarily during the holidays. My parents saw in the newspaper a questionnaire for participation in a TV project, they offered to fill it out. About a week later I was invited to the second stage of selection in Moscow.

How many people filled out this questionnaire?

As far as I know, somewhere around 5,000 people. On the day I arrived in Moscow, there were thirteen of us. All foreigners. We sat in the office of a TV show about Dmitry Krylov's travels. We were tested. No one could believe that all this would lead to some real project. People were concerned about whether they would compensate for travel, accommodation, why fill out documents, and in general - will all this really end with filming? As a result, out of 13, three remained. We were given not only money for travel, but also a voucher for a hotel. We left there. During the week, every day there was a selection, someone left. In the end, 60 people remained. I lived in Moscow for a month, shooting took place all this time, we were taken to the EMERCOM training ground. There were arranged situations in which we could prove ourselves. It was clear that the organizers were interested in how we differ from each other, so that the viewer would be interested to look at us, so that people would be just different.

Endurance, physical condition, probably interested in?

Their endurance was probably the last thing they were interested in. Of course it must be healthy people so that after 6 days they did not request to go home. The work of a psychologist was important, he found out what a person is like, how he will interact with other people who were selected.

Didn't you want to give up everything and return to Volgograd?

The further, the more interesting it became. We did not yet know where we would go, but we guessed that it would be the tropics. Then, at the age of 18, I didn’t go anywhere else. The only embarrassing thing was that I, the headman, had not been attending classes for 2 weeks. Before participation, the film crew and I went to Volgograd, filmed my parents and went to the Polytechnic University to negotiate with the dean. As a result, I was absent until about mid-November.

What were you told before leaving for the island?

We didn't know much. We were told that we can take one thing, but it cannot be repeated with those that other participants have chosen. I preferred pen and paper, but they wouldn't let me because someone else took it. Now I don't even remember what I ended up choosing. From what we knew about the upcoming journey, unfamiliar diseases, animals await us, because everyone was vaccinated against malaria. It is forbidden to enter Panama without this vaccination. Panama is very poor country, there is unsanitary conditions, insects fly, spread diseases. We were given a cassette with information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations about what security measures should be observed in the tropics. "The Last Hero" is filmed under license. Some of the participants watched foreign versions in advance and learned about many competitions in advance. But I don't think they won anything.

Were you really not “fed” behind the scenes?

We were not fed anything, when we landed from the barge on the island, we took only chests with us. There was also food - rice. We calculated: in order for it to last for 40 days, one person can eat 30 grams per day. Of course, we proceeded from the fact that people will be dropping out not from our team.

How did you sleep?

What dream! The first 3 days did not sleep at all. Of course, at least where lie down - on the beach, for example. Just keep in mind: it rains every night, it’s impossible to sleep without a roof over your head, and sometimes it’s dangerous. A lot of living creatures crawl out at night. Then we built a shelter from the rain. They made a canopy over the ground, wrong, as it turned out. All sorts of rubbish quickly accumulated under us. On the 5-6th day we built a house above the ground, made it from palm branches and a raft, on which we moored to the island.

How did the psyche withstand such conditions? Without normal sleep, food?

The task of psychologists is to recruit such a team where people are more likely to begin to conflict. The public probably loves it. Here, in theory, you need to support each other, and since all people are different, they will inevitably quarrel. Lack of food, available fresh water, comfortable conditions plus the ambitions of people who wanted to win leadership positions.

What interesting things happened to you? How did you get to know wild life?

Our team won the very first competition and got fire - matches. At the same time, we believed that if we put out the fire, then we would have to spend matches again. And there were only seven of them, I think. Then we met with another team, they, after 20 days, also received fire. “And you kept the fire going all this time?” the guys ask us. We: “Yes, but can you imagine what will happen if it goes out?” And we, naive, were worried about how the TV people would mount it - on one frame the fire is on, on the other it went out. As it turned out, from the point of view of installation, it does not matter. We constantly supported this fire, every night there was a duty officer who did not sleep. He did everything he could to keep the rain from drowning him out.

What did you cook on fire?

In the early days, we cooked tasteless food. A lot of living creatures crawl on the ground. For example, hermit crabs just swarm underfoot. This crustacean has a claw sticking out, it finds an empty shell, climbs into it and starts crawling with it. There is almost no meat in it. There is more sand and dirt inside the sink. We cooked them. Then we discovered coconuts. There were a lot of them, they were lying underfoot, if you fry them, you get almost popcorn. 60% coconut consists of oils - you can fry it and use it as a flavoring additive. But the coconut very quickly became boring. Then we found sprouted coconut. When milk turns into cotton wool, a lot of sugar is formed there. And we were wildly lacking in glucose. Dreams were only about chocolate. Then everyone started dreaming about food. There was a real shift in my head about the lack of food. Upon arrival, I wanted to eat everything that you see. Formed very careful attitude to food.

Then we also caught fish. There are a lot of her there. A lot of both poisonous and toothy. There is a rule - if the fish is colorful, beautiful, can change color, most likely it is poisonous. We came across a large fish, of the same color, we ate it, it is very tasty.

What else was in your chests?

There were also knives in the chest - machetes, with which it is convenient to pass through the tropics, to extract the same coconuts from the shell. There was an ax, cauldrons, a net for catching fish. We arrived in Panama with suitcases full of clothes. They had to be left in the hotel's storage rooms. Backpacks with unwarmable clothes were taken to the island. They were examined. Food, sharp objects, matches could not be hidden there. Many tried, but everything had to be abandoned. The experiment was indeed pure. In the end, I was very sorry that I was not allowed to take paper and a pen. Besides, whoever took it didn't use it. And I wanted to keep a diary, record everything. When I was in Moscow, I wrote down everything in detail. At home, I spent a lot of time in order to recall life in the tropics in detail. And now I, having forgotten some things after 10 years, look into my book (Ivan wrote a book about life on the island, How to Survive in the Bull's Mouth - D.S.)

You can also watch the series online.

It is possible, but there is not everything, but only a separate squeeze.

Were there many people behind the scenes?

According to my data, 150-300 people. Often someone was fired, changed. They lived on another island, more civilized. There are hotels, cafes, roads. Given the fact that this is Panama, of course, everything is quite cheap.

In addition to the participants desert island who else was?

There was always one cameraman, sound engineer, journalist who brought the director's ideas to life, he organized competitions, recorded with the participants, clarified the thoughts of a person. All this was immediately observed on the island where the staff lived. They shoot during the day, watch at night. They decide what to talk about tomorrow, looking for a topic that they can catch on with the participant: “Oh, look, he just said this, this topic has not been worked out. So tomorrow you go and talk to this person about this topic.” There were a lot of hidden cameras and microphones. We didn’t know what the director wanted from us, but he was very professional in leading us to it. They filmed dozens, hundreds of hours of video, and in the end they got 13 episodes of 60 minutes each.

Did you start broadcasting the project when you were on the island, or later?

A week after our return to Moscow, the 1st episode was shown. I remember we were all gathered in some restaurant to watch the beginning. We then passed acclimatization in dispensary. Look, remember. More than 40 days have already passed since the filming of the 1st series. In addition, we did not know what was happening on the island of the other team.

There were no offenses, because, for sure, some details surfaced?

By that time, many had already quarreled and reconciled, so all the conversations and actions that we saw on the screen, but could not see live, were not perceived sharply. Therefore, only people of weak character or too emotional could find fault with words.

Was there a script for the participants? What to do, to speak, with whom to swear?

The reality show was still a reality show. There were no planned conflicts. Of course there were different situations, leading questions were asked so that a person spoke from a certain angle on a certain occasion. But there were no instructions to say or act in a certain way.

And what can you say about the scene where you and Inna Gomez are sitting under a palm tree, a guitar is in her hands, do you start a sincere conversation?

I wanted to remove the dialogue. For the entourage, given that Inna can play the guitar, we decided to shoot just like that, nothing more, the conversation itself cannot be staged. A collection of songs is a thing that someone preferred to take, and Odintsov (project participant — D.S.) took the guitar.

Did the members leaving the project take these items?

As a rule, they fell into disrepair - always damp, the last 4 days, without stopping, it rained. At the end of the project, the rainy season came, a strong wind rose. Many competitions had to be canceled or the venue moved. Those people who delivered us on boats simply refused to go to sea. For the first time I saw such waves - under 6-7 meters in height. On boats, of course, it was impossible to go out.

What dangers did you face on the island?

Upon returning to Russia, I found out how malaria behaves. There are several types of this disease. We have been vaccinated against the most dangerous, which is fatal. And there is another dad. There is no vaccine for her. This is a mild form of malaria. The locals, of course, have immunity, but the Europeans will inevitably show it. The disease lasts 3 days - the temperature rises, the head hurts. The carriers are mosquitoes. They are so small that they cannot be seen. They really interfered with our lives, and there was a swamp on the island. At first, they did not know that these transparent insects carry malaria. At one time or another, each of us felt unwell. They thought they had a cold. If the body does not resist, the person begins to get sick very quickly. The temperature rises to 37.5, nervousness appears, a headache, nothing more. If the body's resistance is high, and you do not get sick long time, then later you will still get sick, but the temperature will rise more strongly. Odintsov fell ill after the project, when we ended up on a civilized island. He felt very bad, we did not know what his temperature was - there was no thermometer. When we arrived in Moscow, I was the last to fall ill. My temperature was 41.5. They called me an ambulance. The doctors could not understand what was happening to me, why such a high temperature. To be safe, they diagnosed the infection. “And if there is an infection, then we will take you to the infectious diseases hospital! And excuse me, if you get there, you must have an incubation period - spend at least 14 days in the hospital. Our psyche, of course, was undermined. They bring me there, they literally put me in a cell, behind the glass, so that I don’t contact anyone. It was uncomfortable, to say the least. In the end, I ran away from this hospital. I called the journalist who was most often with us on the island, she came. The doctors understood that this was not an infection at all, because exactly 3 days later everything went away. And they have a law - 14 days, be kind, lie down. I say, I feel good, I need to leave for Volgograd. I explain, I was in the tropics, I picked up this disease there. And they - yes, we understand, there was such a case in Russia. Konyukhov (famous navigator, traveler - D.S.) also fell ill upon returning home. I say, you then let me go, and they again: according to the law, you must stay. But I still managed to escape.

Once, when it was raining heavily, a nearby tree was struck by lightning. We hid in a house that was a meter from the ground. There are very beautiful pelicans with huge wings. They fly and fall into the water like a stone, they catch something. And we sit and watch. After the lightning hit, a numbness arose, the tongue became cottony, it was very loud, such a discharge. They did not immediately understand what had happened.

People usually tried to negotiate. Only once did I give in. It was necessary to expel Boris from Omsk. At the very beginning, they began to conflict with Igor for the role of the elder. Both are adults and experienced. To avoid conflicts, we decided to exclude one of the leaders.

I think it's great luck that I and a few other people decided not to join any coalitions anymore. As a result, many survived longer than they could have. If you start to be friends with someone against someone, you can be expelled very quickly, you are a resource. And when you are a dark horse, no one knows how you will vote, what you are guided by. There are two candidates. And you generally vote for the third. So, you are not a problem, you do not interfere, you are less likely to enter into conflicts.

But how did you manage to reach the final, to remain one on one with your opponent?

When, from the middle of the transmission, the two tribes merged into one, everything changed. Before that, the two teams played against each other. And here it's every man for himself. Before that, I was not friends with anyone, I had no support. And when everyone united, a team was formed from Anya Modestova, her future husband Sergei Sakin, Sergei Odintsov and Inna Gomez. This is already a great power. They excluded those who were in competition with them. But I don't know what they would have done if the four of them had remained, perhaps they would have divided the money or an open fight would have begun. It turned out differently. I won 7 contests in a row, so I couldn't be expelled. This is the only reason I managed to survive. As far as I know, in the history of the project, there has never been a case when a person won 7 contests in a row.

In the end, everything began to emerge, there were five of us left - them and me. Then went open dialogue: you are our competitor, and we, at the first opportunity, exclude you - no offense, no scandals. No matter how hard the psychologists tried, the five of us remained friendly. By the end, the prize has partially lost its value. I don’t know why - either he turned out to be small, or we good people. Inna Gomez, in principle, did not need this money - she is a fairly wealthy person, Anya and Sergey got married on the island and were expelled. I remember that I had just lost the competition, and they had to exclude me. But then the organizers intervened. Since there was a wedding, you need to exclude someone from the couple, decide who. It was an interesting intervention in the process. Because if I left, everything would be clear. And so, as they say, my skin was saved - a wedding took place. But there was nothing new in this - it was said that perhaps there would be a wedding on the island. But the guys did not know that someone would have to leave.

Did you develop relationships, sympathies on the island?

There was no relationship - people are different. To me, as a person, by nature, outwardly, Anya was pretty, but she had Sergey.

And fashion model Inna Gomez?

Inna was on another island and she is much older than me. And then, she had a young man. Of course, she is very beautiful. In general, it is very commendable that at her age she remained in demand and famous as a model. Now she does not work as a model, but she acts in films.

Do you meet with the members?

There are few common interests, we different people- and by age, and by status, and by interests. If there is a chance to meet five of us on the same island, it will be very interesting. Because life in 10 years, of course, has changed a lot. Anya and Sergei divorced. They have a child who lives with Anya. Odintsov stayed with his wife, their daughter grew up. Anna has a husband and two children. I want to find time to drop everything and leave. It has its own unique atmosphere. I will remember a lot, there is nostalgia for the place where I spent 40 days. There is such a Spanish word "manana" - "tomorrow". People in Panama live according to the principle of "mañana". It means this: they say, we should now do this, do this, go somewhere, and then say: “Ah, manyana!” All life there is relaxed. Therefore, nothing is built, produced, mined, people live only on the export of bananas, they live in poverty. But they are glad that they constantly have "manyana". They have the sun all year round, the ocean, they fish for themselves, no ambitions, no home, no furniture, no education. But they are all calm, without worries, everything is tomorrow. That is, today there are no problems, tomorrow there will be, but today there are none.

Tell us about Sergei Bodrov.

After the project, we talked with Bodrov Seryozha several times. For me, this man was just a discovery - so calm, smart, with dignity and at the same time modest. From the first minutes of communication, you are imbued with respect for him and admire his ability to look at the world. It is a pity that he was gone.

What did you dream about on the island?

I was a student. What could I dream about? So that I would not be expelled when I arrived, to get an education. I already knew that I could achieve something. There were thoughts of going on television, since I happened to take part in a television project. After all, good promising acquaintances appeared - Lyubimov, Ernst. But I returned to Volgograd. I had to catch up educational process. I simultaneously studied at two faculties - economics and foreign languages.

Is that how your TV career ended?

No, in Volgograd, I still made 2 TV shows. Many journalists wanted to talk to me. I suggested they take it off. Coordinated everything with federal TV channel, they allowed to take the logos. At that time I was a popular person, it would have increased the rating. Then there were delusional meetings with the luminaries of the Volgograd state television, who sat, listened, shaking their heads, and said: "This TV show spoils the youth, this does not fit into the values of our television company." I was shocked: what's wrong with this TV show? People didn't realize that they had given them the opportunity to use a logo worth thousands of dollars on their small TV company. I remember that I attracted 220,000 rubles from a sponsored mobile operator, for me it was an unrealistic success. At the same time, the budget for the program was a hundred thousand, where did the rest go, I'm even afraid to imagine.

Then there was another TV project on another TV channel - youth. There is a more interesting team. We arranged a trip to the Volgograd region. I met a man who created his own school, his foundation " open world". There, children from dysfunctional families study in four areas, who risk staying on the street or becoming bandits, getting carried away with drugs, etc. He collects and re-educates them. He teaches them hand-to-hand combat according to the Kadochnikov system, scuba diving, survival in the Volgograd steppes, and the psychology of survival in general. We decided to shoot these children in a reality show, arranged competitions for them, while walking without food, without water. We collected water in the Volga, boiled it, and disinfected it. It turned out to be an educational and entertaining TV program. I liked her better, but everything was unprofessional. Sand constantly got into one chamber, they cleaned it with alcohol in a tent so that it would start working. I had to throw out half of the material. We had enough for everything 15,000 rubles. We attracted a sponsor, he paid us for a camouflage uniform, and also gave money for the operator. It turned out low-budget, but much more interesting. Anyway, it was a TV project made on the knees. We filmed 12 episodes, aired them, and I realized that I would not do TV.

You must have been spoiled by federal television!

Maybe, if I didn't participate in the ORT project, I would be pleased just to realize that we did something ourselves. It turned out as many as 2 TV projects, they went out in prime time, at 9 pm, right after Novosti. But I knew how professionals work, what equipment they shoot with, and it was funny for me to look at our TV people.

On the island, we did not have buttonholes. (a microphone that is attached to clothing - D.S.), sound engineer walked with a gun (camera attached microphone - D.S.). He had a hell of a job. He wore a belt, twisted something all the time, removed the noise so that neither the waves nor the seagulls drowned out anything. The sound was perfect. And in Volgograd, of course, there were no buttonholes either, everything was written on camera.

How long have journalists pestered you?

I basically haven't given interviews for 6 years. Our meeting is an exception, because now I have nothing to lose - I am in a foreign city, I will not get attention here. Everyone went to this island for his own, but definitely not for popularity. There were no such people who dreamed: “Here, we will return now, and we are stars!”

Probably, after all, there were conceited people who simply kept silent about their desire to become famous?

Maybe, but this was not discussed, it was considered superfluous, wrong. I definitely did not want to be popular, so when fame fell in an exaggerated form, there were various incidents. I didn't have a personal car. Well, what is Volgograd? This is Izhevsk, by and large. You live in this house, on the third floor, and everyone knows that you live there, everyone knows your phone number, everyone calls. You can't walk down the street without being stopped or asked for something. I do not like such attention, it was unpleasant for me. You get on public transport and everyone knows you there. Everyone is looking at you, everyone is commenting on you. It happened to the whole trolleybus: “Look, look! Do you remember? He filmed there! Ate worms there! Therefore, I tried to buy a car as quickly as possible - any, but so that it was completely tinted, since then I always drive tinted cars, a habit has remained. It was the only place where I felt safe. I went to the Polytechnic University - one of the largest universities in Volgograd, the same situation. My friends and I tried to move in a group. You close all cafes, restaurants, public places for yourself, you don’t want to go there, it’s unpleasant for you.

This is probably very character shaped. Since then, I have become a closed, lonely person.

Of course, there are pluses in my television past. It helps me a lot now at work, though. Much easier to get in touch with a stranger. When it comes to television, about the news, you say: “I also participated in some places there.” “Yes, what are you? Yes seriously? Oh, so interesting. Let's see you again, maybe we'll open a current account with you, we'll get credit." I made some money right after the transfer. But whether this money is worth three lost years of carefree youth is a big question.

Does Volgograd remember its hero?

In Volgograd, purely outwardly, they stopped recognizing me a long time ago. The first 2-3 years was a lot of attention. On the other hand, traffic police inspectors forgave me minor violations and let me go. Now only those who, according to their position, are supposed to recognize - investigators, policemen, customs officers, traffic police. It often happens that he looks, looks and cannot remember where he saw, and you come up to him to facilitate the task: “Don’t worry, I was there ...” “Ah, for sure!” There I was much thinner, although now I am not very fat.

Have you watched the second season of Hero?

Yes, because it was very interesting how their game would go, and subconsciously I was looking for myself among the participants. I wanted to guess from the footage about those events that did not fall into the frame, but most likely took place on the island, as it happened with us.

On the forums, people are almost unanimous that the first draft was the best.

The first project, compared to the others, was low-budget. The fact that people liked it the most is not new. It's like Terminator 1 is better than Terminator 4.

A team of staff went there a month before our arrival. It was necessary to organize everything, install all hidden and non-hidden cameras, think over where to film what plan, so as not to do it later. All kinds of sunsets, sunrises, fish, undersea world, interruptions. They no longer remembered what Russia was. Operators have already forgotten Russian. There is good rum, all kinds of it, they probably tried it.

Didn't they bring you?

Sergei Sakin and one of the operators had a very a good relationship. At the end he brought rum, we buried it under a tree in the forest. And we were very well oriented on the island: a swamp, a fallen tree, and that, so as not to attract attention, we went there one at a time ...

What happened to those who left the project? What was their route?

When the participants were kicked out, they first ended up on a settled island. To get to Moscow, you need to make 5 transfers: first in Ecuador, then in Venezuela, then somewhere else, then, with refueling either in London or Amsterdam, to Moscow. The flight lasts 15-18 hours. The employee had to constantly overcome such routes for installation, along with the equipment. And the retired participants did not leave one by one, but were assigned to one of the staff.

I remember that everyone was on the island in the final.

No, only 7 recent members. There are several final ways to vote. Each country had its own. We have exactly the one in which it was possible to calculate which participant would win. Experienced, adult people understand why it was not I who won, but Odintsov. In fact, everything is simple. I had to win, because in terms of popularity ratings, I was in the lead. Odintsov is a bully, a beech, he crossed out people, he created coalitions, he is cunning, and Vanya is an honest student, and he won’t hurt a fly - you have to vote for him. But, from the point of view of both the producer and the director, and more experienced people everything is different. For example, in Izhevsk, I met with a representative of Rostekhinventarizatsiya - a man of age, a leader, says: "And I was rooting for Odintsov." "And why?" “You will achieve everything, you have everything ahead, but he is gone.” This is true, because Odintsov went through two Chechen campaigns, it’s good that he didn’t get seriously injured. The work is not particularly profitable, but the family needs to be fed and clothed. He really needed this win much more. And everyone thought: “Now the student will win, and everything will be fine.” It won't be remembered. This will not cause a wave of discussion. And it is necessary that everyone criticize, root for one, and the other will win. And then everyone said: “How so, did you see? Have you looked at all?" And so it happened. Attention riveted. The advantage was by one vote. All night they discussed the upcoming council: “Who will you vote for, and why? Vanya will take his own, everything is ahead of him. And Odintsov, look, why is he not good? He reached the final. He needs this prize." In general, this is correct.

There was this version: we play to the end together, we fly to Moscow, where all 16 are already gathering, voting in the studio, conditions are being created, as if we were on an island, so as not to transport everyone again. We wanted to make a darkened room, lights. No one knows who would have won there, but, most likely, me. The second option is audience voting, well, everything is clear here too. The third option - a limited number of participants vote. In the end, the last option was chosen.

Each of us, the five who stayed until the end, got what they wanted. Anya and Sergei got married. Gomez won hers, she went to the island with a specific purpose.

From what?

I can not talk. She left Russia, she achieved her goal, this is her own business. Odintsov won the money. I have a certificate for studying in any country in the world from a sponsor. But it hasn't been implemented yet. I'm busy, here in Izhevsk now. At first he tried, went to Moscow three times, took tests. Until it worked out, negative answers came from America. The education that interests me is MBA - it is more expedient to receive it at the age of 32-33.

Do you communicate with fans of the project on the Internet?

There were people who created accounts for me. There were many Ivanov Lyubimenko. There was a case, one appointed a meeting with fans on the embankment in Volgograd, of course, they did not meet me there. Then they said, wrote: "Ivan Lyubimenko is bad, he promised to come and did not come." You read all this and think how crazy people are. You find a lot of bad things about yourself on the Internet. I am in Odnoklassniki, but I rarely go there. Now sometimes only because my friends stayed in Volgograd, and I want to communicate with them.

On the TV project "The Last Hero", in Panama, on October 31, Vanya celebrated his 19th birthday. 29th anniversary, a few days ago, he celebrated in Izhevsk, with colleagues. Today Ivan Anatolyevich is the director of the bank.

On Friday, May 4, it became known about the death of a participant in the reality show "The Last Hero" Sergei Sakin. A charming man from the first minutes of the program attracted the attention of the audience.

No one could have imagined how tragically Sergei's life would end. But this is not an isolated case. People who instantly get fame on television cannot always cope with it. Dni.Ru decided to remember the dead participants of the most popular reality shows.
Behind last years There are many reality TV shows on television. Ordinary people Thanks to such projects, they were able to become real stars.
